Kubernetes Clusters
Zenon's Kubernetes clusters run a set of operators that extend what the cluster can do beyond the basic Kubernetes resources (Deployments, Pods, etc.). Responsibility for what runs in the cluster splits depending on where that functionality comes from.
Mandatory operators
Installed in every cluster by default and cannot be removed, as they provide functionality all clusters must have. Zenon installs, runs, and upgrades these.
- cert-manager
- Ingress/Gateway (HAProxy/Envoy)
- Rook (storage)
Optional operators
Available for installation on request. Once enabled for your cluster, Zenon is responsible for installing, running, and upgrading them — you're responsible for the resources you create through them.
- ClickHouse operator
- Kafka operator
Everything else
Installing a new operator requires cluster-admin-level permissions and an ongoing commitment to its lifecycle (upgrades, security patching), so we generally can't add operators beyond the lists above on request. If you need functionality that isn't covered, you deploy and operate it yourself — for example through your own Helm chart — and it's your responsibility to run and maintain. A request with clearly high value and low risk may be added to the optional list after review.
